Product Review: Ninja Blender

With all of the different blenders on the market, how can you tell which one you should buy? How can you find out how they compare to each other, and if they’re even worth your hard earned money?  That was my hesitation when deciding which blender to buy.

My husband bought me the ninja blender as a git for Mother’s day 2014.  The model I have is the Ninja NJ600. Since then we have used that blender at least once a day, often multiple times a day.  The blender is still going strong, and we’re still happy with the outcome of our smoothies.

It’s very large. If you’re only making a personal size smoothie, you have a bigger blender to wash out when you’re done.

It’s very loud. In all fairness, it is a blender.

If you’re looking for your smoothie that’s more liquified, this blender doesn’t do that.

Big enough to make smoothies for my whole family.

Blends fruits down to a great smoothie texture

Blades are strong enough to blend tougher ingredients like Ginger root, etc.

This blender has been able to withstand a beating.  Very durable and strong.

Allows various speeds depending on the texture of the smoothie you want.

Fairly easy to wash.

As for care of the blender, I never put it in the dishwasher. I fill it halfway with hot water and a few drops of dishwashing liquid.  I turn the blender on and allow the water to get very sudsy.  Then I dump the water, and rinse with hot water, taking each piece out and thoroughly cleaning. After that, I set it back on the base and allow it to dry.

I absolutely love making smoothies with my Ninja for myself and my family. My blender is actually one of my favorite kitchen appliances, and I’m very happy with my purchase.  If you’re looking for a blender for more than just personal sized smoothies, I would recommend the Ninja blender NJ600. I hope you’re just as happy with your blender as I am with mine.

One word of caution, be careful when handling the blade. It is VERY sharp!
